For me running is more than just getting healthy and fit. It is a good way to help relieve stress and keep your mind healthy and clear. I use running as both a way to get healthy and fit but also as a way of clearing my mind of any negativity and relieving stress. I have been through a lot in my life that has had major impacts on me and running has also been a good way of helping me stay mentally motivated and keep a clear head.
I put my mind and body through the struggle when I go for a run as I feel it helps cleanse me much better, do I ache? Yes I do. Do I feel like my body has gone through 12 rounds with a heavyweight boxer? Yes I do but most of my body and mind feel refreshed and clear which is my ultimate goal.
When I was younger I was a keen runner at school as I did cross country, back in them days it was more for the competition and enjoyment that I did it but as I have got older I have developed a much deeper love for running and a better use for it. I will continue on my battle to get fitter and healthier but ultimately to keep my mind clear and hopefully my body stress free.
